Description

General purpose and low modulus MSALL sealant is a high quality, single component, paintable, anti-polluting neutral modified sealant based on silane-modified polyether polymers. The product does not contain solvents, no pollution to the environment, while most of the building materials, without primer, can produce superior adhesion.

Basic use

The staple of the Wolfgang product line, DGPS 3.0 really stands out as a super slick and incredibly easy to use premium paint sealant that delivers on its durability claims in my tests. From the water test, you can notice the water behavior is not as aggressive compared to other products we’ve tested out, including the RejeX Paint Sealant that is on the left side of the test sections in this video, but it does maintain a noticeable sheeting behavior up through the many months.

For this test video, the surface was prepped using Meguiar’s M205 finishing polish, followed up with an isopropyl alcohol wipedown, and they were allowed 24 hours to cure prior to wetting.

DGPS 3.0 is not a scented product, it has a light chemical smell to it and it has a yellow liquid formula. With a super easy on/off application, this leaves behind an incredibly slick feeling paint surface after buffing. Wolfgang recommends a 30-45 minute dry time to allow it to set before buffing it from the paint. They also recommend a 12 hour cure period before introducing the paint to moisture to allow the polymers to properly cure to the paint surface. The best idea is to prep the paint well prior to application, I recommend a light finishing polish on a light or no cut polishing pad. This is also safe to apply over trim without any fear of discoloration.

DGPS 3.0 is typically $40 for 16fl oz, a premium price for a premium product, but I don’t believe you will be disappointed unless you’re specifically looking for something that behaves much more aggressively with water. This is how I water-proof my watch straps and other leather products such as my belt, daily wearing shoes, and snow boots. It really works well and protects the leather from wear (scuffing just wipes away). This is for a Di-Modell alligator strap but I’ve used it on many other watch straps – but with Hirsch straps I’ve found that the inner core still gets smelly where the holes for the tang buckle are. The AERO lining of Di-Modell is really awesome and I’ve used a Rallye strap all summer with no smells at all. Also, Di-Modell’s seem to have rounded sides whereas many Hirsch are more square or 90 degrees, which tend to dig into my wrist after time.
