Second Attempt at Casting a Silicone Mask (pt. 4.2)

Here is the second attempt I did at casting my orc mask in platinum cure silicone “Dragon Skin” from Smooth On. I’ve always been attracted to the masks made by companies like CFX, SPFX, and Sahttered FX, so I figured I’d try to make one myself. This is NO SMALL TASK!

It turned out a lot better this time, but the silicone seems to have a bit of a tackiness to it still. I didn’t want to waste a ton of silicone and have it not cure properly like the first cast I did. This stuff is pretty expensive. It’s possible that the urethane mold that I’m using is inhibiting the cure, or it’s just some old dragon skin. I’ve had it for a few years, so perhaps the shelf life is up.
