This video is to bring you a closer look at the Pemko S773W White Silicone Adhesive-Backed Fire/Smoke Triple-Fin Gasketing.
This material is very common in hotels, motels, suite doors, ect.
This is a very effective adhesive weatherstripping.
This is the white color, it is also available in different colors on the website.
This comes in several different roll lengths (17, 18, 20, 25, ect).
A 20ft roll would be appropriate for a double door (6′ x 7′).
There are instructions included with the package.

The frame must be completely clean before applying, free of any dust or debris.
Leaving any of this material on the frame may compromise the adhesive’s ability to stick.
If it has been recently painted make sure you allow one week for it to completely cure.
Pemko also includes a wet nap for you to clean your frame.
Do not install this in a continuous run around the corners of the frame, those will be points of failure for the adhesive.
Instead cut or miter your pieces to fit nicely into the jambs.
The instructions say to work with 24″ at a time when applying, but I find that that is too much to work with.
You run the risk of unintentionally causing the adhesive to stick to the frame and then you’d have to peel it back off.
Also the application may look a bit wavy once applied to the frame.
Working with a shorter length will ensure that you’ll have a straight and a neat application.
This being of silicone material, it will last longer in an area of extreme temperatures or if it is exposed to UV rays.
The triple fin design I have found to be more successful when compared to just the bulb design when it comes to keeping the light out.
There is a 1/2″ on the width and there is an uncompressed dimension of a 3/8″ (the backside to the longest fin).
I’ve also used this for dust/sound control as well (i.e. from a shop to a showroom setting).
You can use this on a fire or smoke rated opening as well.
The package will include a label to post on your frame confirming that you’re in compliance.
