Waterproofing membrane for a metal roof created out of shipping containers, quite an unique sort of a job.

Liquid rubber waterproofing membrane suitable for this type of project, where bonds directly to metal containers. The job was power washed thoroughly before hand, substrate clean and dry. Remaining paint was firmly bonded so suitable to spray over the top.
There were box gathers installed between &linking the shipping containers together – making a water tight roofed area over the complete cafe. These box gathers had to be detailed by hand individually, including air conditioning and ducting etc, all had to be detailed by hand , even the outlets for the storm water going out.
Once these were all detailed, the waterproofing membrane was sprayed on.
We used a Liquid Rubber – a dark grey colour, so reflective to the sun and UV stability.
This waterproofing project was sprayed in the course of one day – approximately 118 square meters and it took about four or five hours to complete the job after cleaning. So fairly quick and efficient. This coating approximately 1.5 mm overall, though with detailing built up to approximately 2 mm, maybe 2.2 mm.Highly flexible membrane will move with heat &contraction of the metal roof. This is one of the most devastating scenarios for most waterproofing membranes. Movement and heat causes cracks to evolve and obviously leading to a leaking membrane.
With Liquid Rubber that doesn’t happen as it is highly flexible, the membrane will move with the whole structure and building -keep it all water tight.

Large areas to mould in silicone? We have the solution.
Model SG4 operates purely on a compressed air feed with no electrical supply required. It is easily transported and can be specified with extension hoses that allow the unit to operate at height (from a scaffold for instance).
A specially developed 1:1 mix translucent addition cure silicone has been developed for the machine. It can be used with a thixotropic additive, so vertical surfaces can be coated.
