How to buy an Inflatable Mattress
What will you be doing with the Inflatable Mattress Bed?
Will it be for your home to sleep on every night?
Or will it be for occasional guests to use then deflate and use again?
High Rise or Low Rise?
If you will be using the mattress everynight then a Hi rise makes sense.
However, for guests or children you could get a low rise
Except if you have older guests, then you may want to use a high rise.
For children guests, a low rise make sense.
For a home mattress, flocking is a good idea on both sides. Flocking helps keep the sheets in place and also keeps the bed from making noise when you move.
If you want to spend the money, then there is a mattress that is automatically inflated and deflated on a frame. This type makes sense if you are a light sleeper and are disturbed by every little sound.
There are also inflatable mattresses that have memory foam on top.
Once you have decided on low or high rise, Ask yourself, about the inflating of the mattress.
There are Inflatable Mattress Beds that have Battery operated pumps. The batteries will need to be changed from time to time.
Then there is the Never Flat pump, this is actually 2 pumps. One pump to initially inflate the mattress and the other to add air from time to time when it senses that it needs to. This sound you may like and then it may disturb your sleep.
You may think of an air mattress wobbling around as you move. However, they are made much better today.
Today they have more inner chambers to distribute the air better and more stable.
These types offer you better support and also make the edges sturdier.
For the most comfort, choose one with at least 30 or more air coils or chambers for a queen size Inflatable Mattress. If you choose this kind, you will have plenty of support.
The capacity of the mattress is important also. If a couple are sleeping on the bed, make sure the capacity is adequate.
PVC (polyvinyl chloride) got a bad rap because of the phalates. Restrictions were placed. Now you can get an Inflatable Air Mattress made with PVC free of phalates. You can identify those by the advertising on the label.
You will either see Phalate free, or Eco friendly on the label.Look for the Phalate Free designation
If you want a PVC free Inflatable Bed, you can find those made of TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane). TPU is a mixture of hard plastic and soft silicone.
