Waterproofing construction joints: White tub

A “white tub“ refers to a concrete construction with increased resistance to water penetration. The building units are as a rule partly or completely in contact with the ground. The concrete adopts, without additional waterproofing measures, a loadbearingas well as waterproofing function. When producing the structure, construction joints exist between cast segments which
must be waterproofed against ground water and moisture through special measures. An established method is the installation of a swellable jointing tape, which greatly increass in volume through the action of moisture and seals all defects and voids so that water cannot penetrate into the construction joint. The total white tub system is secure and long lasting due to the particularly high swelling power combined with multiple swelling ability, even under the influence of water under pressure.
