Koi pond. Fibreglass aftercare. See video description.

Fibreglassing Despite the lengths I go to to provide as smooth a finish as possible given all the variables involved, the fresh flowcoat that can take a few hours to fully harden (temperature dictates this) may be susceptible in varying degrees to contamination. Contaminants can be anything air borne, insects, flies, spiders etc. If these stick in the wet flowcoat they leave a sharp protrusion that certainly wasn’t there after I sanded the fibreglass down prior to applying the flowcoat. Here I give a demonstration on how to deal with anything that contaminates the flowcoat when I visited Lee’s pond in passing on the way to another job. You do not need to fill and empty the pond to get rid of toxins, do not wash the fibreglass down with soapy water and do not sand it aggressively with sand paper, just nip off anything that has contaminated the finished surface as per my advice.
