Every SALTWATER REEFERs NIGHTMARE! My friends Reef Tank a 400G Fully Stocked tank. Filled with awesome Fish and Jammed Packed with Coral Exploded. All of his livestock has died with the exception of a few fish. We where able to scoop them up and put them in his other tank. We saved a Yellow Tang, Orange Shoulder Tang, a Blenny, and thats it.
I tryed to save as much coral as possible, this was a total lost. I would urge you all to not buy tanks from locals who make tanks as a hobby. This was a clean FAILURE as you can see in the video. Nothing Hit the Tank, it just exploded and gave way.
This could have beeen even worse than it was. Such as it could of happened in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. His ENTIRE HOUSE COULD OF CAUGHT ON FIRE! Thank God Nothing Like that did happen. His Insurance is going to cover his loss, so this is Good.
Please Keep All of your Equipment off of the floor, just like D did. Look into GFI PLUGS, they could save your life. Also Look into Renters Insurance and Home Owners Insurance, at least it will help with his Loss. This was a TERRIBLE event, but D will Bounce Back from this!
SIDE NOTE: If You are thinking about fixing and repairing an aquarium just because it is a deal. Or you know someone who says they can, this could happen to you. Nothing Hit or caused this to happen, Meaning Nobody Hit or bumped Into the Glass, It just Gave way. I dont know If it was from the Builder or Someone else who owned the Tank. This was Bought from a Previous Owner.
Sometimes you just got to spend the extra Money on a NEW Tank. It Just depends on you. Something that comes with a WARRANTY or something that is bought used. Even then, buying NEW still comes with some limitations. SUCH AS USING THE BUILDERS STAND, even if the BUILDERS STAND IS MDF. Basically JUNK.
