Description

General purpose and low modulus MSALL sealant is a high quality, single component, paintable, anti-polluting neutral modified sealant based on silane-modified polyether polymers. The product does not contain solvents, no pollution to the environment, while most of the building materials, without primer, can produce superior adhesion.

Product Features

〔1〕 environmental protection products: no solvent, no PVC, no isocyanate, non-toxic, tasteless, non-polluting, fast curing;

[2] surface coating: compatible with most industrial paint, dry surface can be painted, so does not affect the curing speed;

[3] easy to use: excellent thixotropy and extrusion, for a wide temperature range.

〔4〕 good adhesion: the stone, aluminum, ceramics and cement components, and most of the building materials with excellent adhesion properties; no pollution of the porous material.

[5] excellent weather resistance, aging performance, superior tensile and compression resilience;

[6] neutral curing, stone, cement and other non-corrosive building materials, to overcome the common silicone rubber easy to contaminate the shortcomings of the substrate.

Basic use

General purpose and low modulus MSALL sealant Suitable for use:

[1] construction of housing and other areas of bonding and sealing;

[2] fixed panel, frame, window sill installation, suitable for a variety of building materials such as paint metal, glass, wood, concrete, stone, masonry and other ordinary seal;

[3] seam and ceiling seal;

[4] water pipes, roof gutter and other seals;

[5] activity room, container seal;

[6] interior decoration seal;

[7] mildew – suitable for kitchen and toilet applications;

〔8〕 the floor system of bonding, especially for housing renovation when the laying of tiles;

[9] on the porous material or smooth, moist surface has a strong adhesive force.

[10] Please note: MSALL sealant is not suitable for glass inlay use; for the prefabricated concrete displacement joint seal recommended supporting the use of Jiang special primer.

    In this video I will showcase the extent of hard water spotting with a beading and sheeting based wax and sealant and compare them to each other. This is a 7 day update for the Turtle Wax ICE Synthetic Paste Polish (2007), and the Corrosion Technologies RejeX Paint Sealant. The day prior to the test, I came out and washed each side down using Meguiar’s Deep Crystal car wash soap, and I examine the spotting that occurred from the sprinkler system on the test sections overnight.

    I’m addressing the specific claim that sheeting based products are better than tighter beading products because they reduce hard water spotting. As you can see from the video, the level of spotting is nearly identical regardless of the type of product on the paint. This is because even though sheeting based products are less hydrophobic than beading ones, they are hydrophobic enough for water to bead up if they aren’t flooded enough to form a flat sheet of water across the entire section.

    Our two main sources of hard water spotting occur out of the hose, or from sprinkler systems. These sources have a high concentration of mineral deposits (mostly calcium or magnesium). When hit with water out of a sprinkler system, it’s unlikely you’ll have a perfect situation to where the water will flood flat across the paint panel to have a reduction in beading. Using water out of the hose, we can see that we can focus water onto the paint in order to create this sheeting behavior to occur, but we are in total control of this process. This leaves us with rain water spotting, which is totally different because rain water is naturally soft. Rain spotting will occur with beading and sheeting products, however the spotting is most often just a rearrangement of the dirt/dust/pollen/contaminants that are already on the paint, that are encapsulated by individual rain water beads that when dried will result in lighter spotting. Be sure to check the acid rain levels in your area, if you notice heavy spotting specifically after a rain shower this is the common culprit.

    Sheeting based products can make it easier to dry the car after washing it, manually flooding the entire paint can result in less water being required to be dried using a microfiber drying towel. However, the assumption that sheeting products are better than beading ones because they will prevent hard water spotting is not a real world conclusion that my test demonstrates. I would also question the extent of increased damage by tighter beading products as having a magnifying glass effect on paint underneath when beading occurs.

    Overall, water spotting is not something that you can entirely avoid by specifically altering the surface tension of the product. As you reduce the surface tension, you get closer to the behavior exhibited by paint that is unprotected. The most important aspect with beading and sheeting products, is how well the paint is protected underneath even though spotting occurs on the top layer of the wax or sealant. And in my test, both products perform very well in how just a simple washing with soap removes all traces of hard water spotting.

    What product is better for your paint? It’s up to you to define your own preferences! I use a large assortment of many beading and sheeting products and most of them work great for me.

    I plan to follow up this test using different products, stay tuned for those results!
